Alert for all WhatsApp users! Now, WhatsApp lagi dan lagi ngasih fitur terbaru to its over 1 billion users to keep coming back with this app! Layanan pesan milik Facebook ini, upgrading its performance lewat fitur live location sharing. How does it work?
Well, bisa dibilang fitur baru ini bener-bener fresh! As we know before kalo WhatsApp of course already gives us the option to share our location with other friends, tapi itu cuma one-time sharing aja dan statis banget. Perbedaan utama in this new fiture adalah kita bisa langsung berbagi lokasi with other users and updates our move and current location in real time. Bahkan, when the app is in the background, live location sharing ini juga tetep bisa berfungsi. So dynamic!
Live location ini bisa kita share lewat chat grup ataupun personal and it means the participants in that chat will be able to see our real-time location as it updates on a map with limited duration. When we try to share our live location in a WhatsApp chat, kita bisa nge-tap attach icon on Andorid, atau plus icon bagi pengguna iPhone. Then, kita bakal diminta buat milih durasi waktu live location sharing-nya selama yang kita butuhin.
Untuk sekarang ini, we can only choose from one of the options, 15 menit, 1 jam (default), dan 8 jam waktu sharing. And, optionally, we can add a comment too! And another good news is, we can still choose to share a one-time location atau lokasi statis kayak yang sebelumnya juga, if we prefer.
What’s more is, kita juga bisa ngeberhentiin sharing live location itu secara manual at any time in our chatbox. A new option in our Account Privacy settings juga secara lengkap gives us overview tentang fitur baru ini.
Lebih lanjut, fitur ini langsung akan muncul dalam obrolan WhatsApp as thumbnails that show the location of us and a ‘live until’ time. Asyiknya, dengan menu ‘View Live Location’ kita bisa stalking lokasi terkini seseorang lewat maps dari users yang lagi berbagi lokasi di chat itu. Wah, it’s so easy things buat terus-terusan mantau si doi ya! hihi..
Nggak cuma itu aja, if we switch to a Satellite view of the map, we can see live traffic data juga lho. Well, it’s s sounds good buat kita yang lagi nunggu seseorang, we can leave the old way lewat fitur baru ini. Very good!
